Great Seal of the Republic of Texas Hooded Sweatshirt

The seal of the Republic front and center on a soft, warm hooded sweatshirt.

What you see here is the first seal of the Republic of Texas, which was used to make things official from 1836 to 1839.

It's not the work of some fancy artist. In fact, it may be the most basic seal ever created for any nation. No Latin motto. No esoteric symbolism. Just straightforward "this is who we are" function.

That should tell you something about the men of the first Congress of the Republic of Texas, who wrote it into law, and President Houston who signed that law.

The law read: "the national seal of this republic shall consist of a single star, with the letters 'Republic of Texas', circular on said seal, which seal shall also be circular"

    Simple. Dignified. Republic.
